SOME A's TO YOUR Q's
Can I please get a pic of all my dogs together?
I will definitely try! I can ALMOST always get 1-2 images of a group, but I can't guarantee it. Some dogs apparently just want the spotlight all to themselves.
Can we do my dog and my friend's dog at the same time?
Dogs that don't live together tend to go a little bonkers when they're in the same space and it DOES NOT make for a productive session. I highly recommend scheduling sessions separately so that we can focus on getting great images of each pet. Pets that live together on a daily basis are typically fine together though.
Wait. Don't you do studio pics?
I used to, but I moved locations and no longer offer studio sessions for pets. Outdoor images are my favorite anyway - and remember, I can always bring the studio to you!
Outside pictures?! My dog can't be off leash outside!
That's ok! It's actually very rare that I take pictures outside without a leash, even for the most well-behaved pups! Leashes help keep our pups safe and in the general area I need them in. Then editing magic can remove the leash easily. As long as your doggo isn't TERRIFIED to be outside, it will work!
What if I want pictures of my whole family with the dog?
In general, if you want FAMILY pictures, you'll need to book a family session over at our human site Taste the World. Those images will focus on your family and we can certainly get the pup in there too! But if you want pet pictures, you're in the right place at Snoots. I certainly don't mind having your family or human kids in one over here too, but this is a focus on your fuzzy babies.
Our dog is too old/sick/disabled to leave the house. Help!
Honey, I do house calls too! If you have a pup that wouldn't do well outside of your home for whatever reason, I'll come to you and keep your baby as comfortable during the session as we can. (Within 15 minutes of Broken Arrow is free - travel fees apply elsewhere.)
What should I bring to my session?
You don't HAVE to bring anything to your session other than a dog and a leash (please no choke collars or harnesses). If you WANT to bring anything, you certainly can...favorite toys, food that makes them go crazy, clothes, props, things that represent you/your family/your business, etc. Bring it all! I will have treats on hand, but if your baby has a sensitive stomach, feel free to have your own handy.
What else should I know?
Please bathe/brush your pups a couple of days before your session. Please don't take them to the groomers the same day I'm scheduled. They'll be irritated and harder to chill out.
If your pups have any food allergies or aversions, please let me know when you book.
If you can walk/exercise your dog before your shoot, it will be helpful. A tired dog is a good dog.
Please don't feed your dog right before your session. I want them treat motivated!
During your session, I will need your help holding a leash, but otherwise I'll need you to be mostly quiet and still. I need them to focus on ME while shooting. Please don't have anyone stand behind me to make noises!
The less children around, the better. Dogs tend to feed off of kiddo energy, and even non-protective pups get more nervous when kiddos are around.
Stay relaxed, even if you think your doggo is being super bad. I promise I'm getting some good shots regardless. Your dog can read your anxiety and will react to it. Chill, baby. :)
