As a pet photographer, I have a lot of fun and see a lot of joy.

But because I'm in this business, I also do a lot of end-of-life photo sessions and see a lot of heartache.

Hiring a professional photographer for the last days/weeks/months of your animal is something you will never regret doing.

While I do suggest getting photos BEFORE they get sick as well, having images that show the heart of your relationship is so beautiful.

I hate the situation, but I actually LOVE end-of-life photo shoots because you can feel them so deeply. The interaction between a family and their best friend is honestly something you can't say in words.

I've cried with and for clients losing their pets. And Jaxon is one of them.

I worked with Jaxon (and his two chocolate lab brothers) about a year ago. His mom booked another session recently, saying it would be his last. They found out he had cancer and wasn't doing well, so I was able to get her in the next day.

It was a beautiful session. He couldn't walk very well and was very tired, so we did the session at their home, under the beautiful willow tree in the front yard.

We wanted to do a sunset session, so scheduled during golden hour.

If you have the option to book a session for your pet while they're in good health, please do so. But if an emergency comes up, please let me know....I may be able to get you in sooner than what's available on my online calendar.
