If you're in the Tulsa area and you're looking for a dog, you have a lot of options.

The shelters here are ALWAYS full and we do not have no-kill shelters here, so some of these dogs are on a literal countdown for their lives. Very undeservedly. 

There are also a ton of great local rescues who do all they can to temporarily place these shelter dogs into homes as to give others more time.

Another one we don't think of too often - check with your local vets. There are quite a few who have dogs and cats in boarding who need homes as well. This is often an overlooked space for pets - they are also looking for fosters and forever homes.

I got a call from River Trail saying they were overflowing with pets who need to get out of boarding. So I said I would gladly come take photos of them to see if we could find them families. 

As of today (July 30, 2026) all of these pets need homes. You can contact the vet's office and inquire. These are all currently at their Riverside location.

They also have a few cats in boarding. They are all friendly and playful.
